Where waste is not separated at source, organic waste and treatment-plant sludge end up in landfills, where they rot with odour and insects. Separated organic waste can instead be composted fermentatively with beneficial microorganisms.

- Build the heapAfter separation, treat the waste while building the compost heap.
- TurningAfter 8 weeks, turn the heap and treat it again.
